About
The Hutchinsons Sustainability Advisory Council (HSAC) is an independent, industry-good group of agrifood leaders and experts.
It was formed in January 2025 with the generous support of H L Hutchinson Ltd to provide a proactive forum to debate and discuss issues surrounding sustainable and resilient food production.
The council, guided by a clear set of terms of reference which enable it to work independently, explores a range of challenges that the UK agrifood sector needs to address to create a successful, and in the long term, sustainable industry that is positively engaged with government, the private sector and peer to peer.
The council’s membership draws on considerable expertise across science and data, on-the-ground practical agriculture, supply chain and wider business experience. Its work aims to strike the balance between what is ambitious and what is achievable, to enable it to deliver demonstrable impact that will be welcomed by the agrifood sector, embraced by government, and foster a can-do attitude that will benefit farmers, the food chain, the environment and the public.
